Clint Dempsey shocked Chelsea with a pair of goals as Fulham earned a draw with Chelsea while Liverpool's impressive weekend saw them move 3 points clear in the EPL title chase. Clint Dempsey scored a header off a corner kick in the 88th minute to pull Fulham even at 2 with giants Chelsea and earn a valuable point. The draw saw Chelsea fall 3 points behind leaders Liverpool who demolished Newcastle 5-1.
Liverpool put on an impressive display on the weekend showing they are favorites to take the EPL title this year. Liverpool handily defeated Bolton 3-0 on Friday and followed it up with a 5-1 trouncing at Newcastle Sunday behind two goals from Steven Gerrard. Arsenal got back on track with a 1-0 win over Portsmouth and Everton continued their hot streak with a victory over Sunderland.
Manchester United tries to stay in the title hunt as they host Middlesbrough on Monday and Aston Villa looks to climb back into the top 4 on Tuesday away to Hull City.
