Manchester United had no trouble taking care of Wigan as Chicharito scored two goals in the easy win. The Mexico striker scored his first putting home a low cross from Nani after 17 minutes and in the second half he took a pass from Wayne Rooney in the 74th for his 12th goal of the season. Late goals by Rooney and Fabio da Silva comleted the rout.
"To win 4-0 away from home at a place like Wigan is very good. ... It's an acid test going to Chelsea and Liverpool," United manager Alex Ferguson said. Man U has played the same number of games as the rest of the top four and holds a four point lead over Arsenal. Second place Arsenal plays in the League Cup final against Birmingham on Sunday when Manchester City hosts Fulham in the league.
Manchester United now awaits important games against Chelsea and Liverpool. If they can navigate those tw matches successfully they'll be on their way to the EPL title.
