The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) cleared Chelsea of any wrongdoing in the signing of former Lens player Gael Kakuta. Originally Chelsea had been banned from the transfer window for two consecutive periods as they were found to have made an improper signing of the young Kakuta.
The CAS stepped in clearing Chelsea and removing all sanctions that had been placed on the EPL leaders. Chelsea chairman Bruce Buck, said in a statement on the club's official website: "We are pleased to have come to an amicable resolution of the matter and that it has been ratified by CAS and recognized by FIFA.
Apparently there was an agreement reached between Chelsea and Lens which included an arbitral awar, but details were kept in confidence.
