Chelsea got back on track finally as they played to a 1-0 victory over a feisty Bolton squad Wednesday at Stamford Bridge. It wasn't all pretty that's for sure as Chelsea were booed off by the home fans after a scoreless opening half of play. The Blues were better in the second half but still left the fans yearning for their previous form. Finally a tap in from Flourent Malouda found the back of the net and gave Chelsea a much needed three points. The win ends the defending champions worst run in EPL play in over a decade and moves Chelsea over Tottenham and into 4th place in the EPL.
Liverpool dropped a shocker at Anfield as last place Wolves came in and got their first EPL win since last March winning 1-0. Snowy weather had forced the postponements of games against Fulham and Blackpool, meaning the Reds had not played in the league for 18 days. Their rustiness was evident. A Stephen Ward goal just after halftime was the decider as Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson must now face the wrath of a livid fanbase. The win gives Wolves hope of climbing out of the relegation zone as now they only sit one point from safety.
The final match of the day saw Wigan hosting Arsenal. Despite a second half red card to star N'Zogbia, Wigan rallied to earn a 2-2 draw through a Squillaci own goal. The point leaves Arsenal in third place behind Man U and Man City while Wigan sits 16th.
