Champions League quarterfinal draw - Arsenal and Barcelona to face off

Champions League quarterfinal draw - Arsenal and Barcelona to face off

The quarterfinal draw for the 2010 Champions League is done and defending champions Barcelona have drawn Arsenal in what proves to be a fascinating matchup.  It will be their first meeting since the 2006 Champions League final.  Barcelona destroyed Stuttgart in the knockout stages behind a wildy in form Lionel Messi who has scored 8 goals in his previous 4 matches.

Manchester United was paired off with German powers Bayern Munich.  It is a rematch of the 1999 Champions League final which United claimed.  That is the only time Manchester United have ever beaten the Germans.  Wayne Rooney has been tearing along scoring goals in bunches.

We have an all French tussle as Lyon was drawn with leaders Bordeaux.  The two will also face off in Ligue 1 play meaning they'll play three times in quick succession.  Should make for some contentious soccer between the two heated rivals.  Inter Milan drew CSKA Moscow in the fourth quarterfinal matchup.  Inter knocked out Chelsea in the last round and should be considered heavy favorites, but soccer fans know a trip to Russia is never an easy one.

The draw sets up a potential Inter Milan semifinal matchup with the winner of Barcelona/Arsenal.  The Man U/Bayern winner will face the survivor of the French clash.
