Champions League - Chelsea held scoreless by CFR Cluj

CFR Cluj pulled its second big result in as many matchdays.  On matchday 1 CFR Cluj won at Roma. Today they were at home and held English giants Chelsea to a scoreless draw.  With the two good results, CFR Cluj looks to have a legitimate chance to advance from Group A play.  Chelsea and CFR Cluj lead the group on 4 points apiece with Roma next on 3.  Bordeaux is bottom winless in both matches do far.  Roma won at Bordeaux today 3-1.

In Group B play, Werder Bremen rallied from a halftime deficit to earn a draw with Inter Milan 1-1 while Anorthosis won at home against Panathinaikos 3-1.  Anorthosis and Inter are tied atop the group on 4, Werder Bremen is on 2 and Panathinaikos is winless still.

All looked lost for Barcelona as they were down a goal at Shaktar Donetsk as they trailed 1-0 with only a few minutes to play.  Then Argentinian superstar Lionel Messi decided to make his mark scoring in the 87th and the 90th to snatch victory and leave the home side in shock.  The win moves Barcelona to the top of the group on 6 points.  Shaktar sits on 3.  Sporting Lisbon is also on 3 as they took care of FC Basel 2-0 in Portugal.

In Group D action, Robbie Keane notched his first goal for Liverpool as they cruised over PSV Eindhoven 3-1.  Liverpool and Atletico Madrid both sit on two wins as Atletico defeated Marseille 2-1.  Liverpool travels to Madrid on matchday 3.
