Carlos Tevez heading back to Manchester City

Carlos Tevez heading back to Manchester City
Carlos Tevez is heading back to Manchester City.  Club officials have confirmed that they expect AWOL striker Carlos Tevez to return to the club later this week.  It sets the stage for a tense and interesting reunion with manager Roberto Mancini.

He has not played for City since he refused to warm up during the Champions League defeat to Bayern Munich in September, but he is ready to resume his career after failing to secure a move away in the January transfer window.  Tevez left Manchester and headed to Argentina after falling out with Mancini over the incident in Munich but it has now been affirmed that Tevez is returning to England. Rumors are his flight is due to arrive sometime on Tuesday.

Roberto Mancini has talked about the situation and no doubt will be asked for an update at his media conference ahead of the Porto game, when he will have a much better idea when Carlos arrives and whether he has returned to the training ground.  Despite Tevez's return, it is still debatable whether he will actually feature in the City side with Mancini still insisting the striker must issue an apology for his actions, something he has refused to do thus far.

Mancini, who saw his side returned to the top of the Premier League with a 1-0 win over Aston Villa on Sunday, told Sky Sports "My reaction is always the same. Carlos knows the situation, we are here and it depends on him. Carlos knows the situation from September, we don't have any problem."Asked if an apology was still what City were waiting for, the Italian added: "Yes, it's possible. For now we should be happy for this game. For Carlos' situation, we know what can happen. Carlos is a Manchester City player. We are in Manchester, we are always there. We have not changed in these three months, we are there.
