The Big East is flexing its muscle in the NCAA soccer tournament. Three of the final eight are from the Big East.
Surprisingly the powerhouse ACC only has a single team left standing. Only #1 seeded North Carolina is left as Maryland crashed out at home losing 4-2 to Louisville in the round of 16. UNC slipped past Indiana 1-0 in overtime and will host cinderella St Mary's of California for a College Cup berth.
As the ACC flopped, the Big East has flourished. South Florida, UConn and Louisville are still alive in the tournament. UConn hosts Charlotte while both Louisville and South Florida must win on the road to gain College Cup berths.
Louisville must travel crosscountry and take on Pac 12 champions UCLA. South Florida also faces a difficult road test as they must go to 20-2 Creighton.
The Final Eight
Charlotte (16-4-2) at UConn (19-3-2)
Louisville (14-6-2) at UCLA (17-4-1)
South Florida (13-3-4) at Creighton (20-2)
St Mary's CA (11-6-5) at North Carolina (19-2-2)
