Barcelona left no doubt in this one as they demolished South American champs Santos 4-0 in the Club World Cup Final. It just wasn't much of a match at all as Barcelona played their typical beautiful game and Santos chased them around. It was Barcelona's second consecutive title at the Club World Cup.
When it was time to finish, Barcelona did just that as Lionel Messi notched twice and Xavi and Fabregas added. "My players were like artists," Guardiola said. "Whatever they envisaged in their minds they were able to do on the pitch. It was an incredible performance."
Lionel Messi, who was named player of the tournament, added: "It's beautiful to be world champions but it's a team effort. We often play like that but because it was a final it seemed more beautiful."
The Messi - Neymar debate that raged leading up to the tournament was emphatically put to rest. Lionel Messi dominated every phase of the game leaving the young Neymar in awe.
"It's impossible to stop Barcelona, but we are the second-best team in the world and for us that is a great reward," Neymar said.
I would say 2nd best team in the world is certainly debatable and very doubtful at best. Ok....not a chance.
