Barcelona take La Liga as Real Madrid lose

Barcelona claimed the La Liga title as Real Madrid fell to Villareal 3-2.  The result left Real Madrid eight points behind with only two matches to play.  It was Barca's 19th La Liga title.  Barcelona won their second trophy of the week with the title.  Earlier in the week they won the King's Cup wih a 4-1 win over Athletic Bilbao.

The celebrations were somewhat muted on Sunday as Mallorca beat Barcelona in a meaningless match 2-1.  Barca had taken the lead behind a goal from Eto'o, but Mallorca rallied back with a pair in the second half.

Barcelona now awaits the Champions League final on May 27th in Rome against Manchester United.
