Several really inticing international friendlies dot the FIFA schedule this week as teams ramp up preparations for the upcoming World Cup. On Tuesday Brazil plays Ireland in Dublin as Dunga tries to sort out his roster from all the available Brazilian talent.
On Wednesday the United States plays in Amsterdam against Holland in the Americans biggest test of the spring. After a pair of stateside friendlies last month the European based stars will be on display as Landon Donovan and Tim Howard lead the US squad.
Another match to look foward to pits Spain visiting Paris to face France. The French will be looking for improvements in the team that barely slipped through qualifying in unimpressive fashion. Elsewhere, Cameroon travels to Italy in what should be in interesting matchup of contrasting styles. The flare and attacking of Cameroon against the defensive discipline of the Italians.
England hosts Egypt amid more controversy in the English squad. Seems things never change. This time it is the John Terry - Wayne Bridge incident making headlines. The match is clearly an attempt for England to get some preparation for their upcoming World Cup opponent Algeria.
Another wonderful match to check on is Argentina facing Germany in Munich. Argentina needs to show better form after their lackluster qualifying run. Another game of contrasting styles with the aerial power of the Germans against the possession of Argentina.
Closer to home, Mexico looks to build on their impressive performance against Bolivia last week when they face New Zealand in California. Again, not the stiffest opponent as Mexico tries to build slowly towards South Africa.
