Andrey Arshavin put on a wonderful performance netting a whopping four goals in a 4-4 draw between Arsenal and Liverpool Tuesday. The four goals could put an end to Liverpool's EPL title hopes as they moved into a tie on 71 with Manchester United, but Man U has two games in hand.
It was an entertaining first half of play that saw Arsenal take a 1-0 lead to the locker room on Andrey Arshavin's first goal of the evening. Little did anyone anticipate the seven goals coming in the 2nd half of play. Fernando Torres gave warning of the entertaining half to come when he levelled the score in the 49th minute.
Liverpool's Yossi Benayoun would give Liverpool the lead in the 56th to the delight of the home crowd, but Arshavin would stun Anfield with two goals in four minutes to put Arsenal back in front 3-2. The game was far from over though as Liverpool would fight back once again and even the match at three with another Torres goal.
One would have thought 3-3 would be sufficient for the two teams after the five 2nd half goals and two Liverpool fightbacks, but that was not to be. Andrey Arshavin would strike for his fourth of the night in the 89th minute which looked to be the winner. However, Liverpool would fight back again and Benayoun would salvage a point as he notched the tying goal in injury time for the 4-4 draw.
