Arsene Wenger under the gun as Arsenal slump

Arsene Wenger under the gun as Arsenal slump
The heat is being turned up at on Arsene Wenger at Arsenal.  A season of poor results have put the respected coach under the gun as home fans become increasingly restless with the poor form.

It was never more evident than this week as Arsenal crashed to a 4-0 drubbing at AC Milan in Champions League play midweek.  Then yesterday Arsenal crashed out of the FA Cup losing 2-0 to mid-table Sunderland.  This marks the seventh straight season Arsenal will not win a trophy in any competition.

Robbie Keane, who covered the Sunderland match said: "This is the worst Arsenal team I have seen in my time watching football. There is a lack of desire and a lack of passion."

They are 17 points out of the EPL title race and sitting even with Chelsea on fourth with Newcastle just behind.  If they cannot hang onto 4th they'll miss out on Champions League play next year....an unthinkable proposition.   Things do not get any easier for the Gunners.  Next up they host a red hot Tottenham side and then must travel to Liverpool the following week before hosting Newcastle.

If Arsene Wenger survives the poor campaign, Arsenal must open up the bank and spend on some new talent.  They'll also have to break the bank to keep Robin Van Persie who is approaching the end of his contract and will be in high demand on the market.
