Aguero goal at the death lifts Man City over Villareal

Aguero goal at the death lifts Man City over Villareal
There is life in Manchester City's Champions League campaign.  Thanks to a goal in the final seconds from star Sergio Aguero hope lives on.  Things weren't always so bright on the day though.

A 4th minute goal from Cani put the visiting Villareal side in front shocking the Manchester supporters.  Were they in for another disappointing Champions League result.  City had only a single point to show from their opening two matches.  Another poor result would put them on the brink of crashing out of the competition they had looked so forward to.

Credit though as Manchester City set about working their way back in the game.  Just before halftime they were able to even the match as Villareal's Carlos Marchena turned a Kolarov cross into his own net.  City almost went ahead just after, but Dzeko saw his shot saved.

As the second half drifted on the drama built.  Neither side were able to find the goal to get in front.  Villareal would have certainly been happy with the road point, but it was not to be as the visitors were unfairly punished.  With only seconds left to play Zabaleta put a perfect low cross through the Villareal six where Aguero zipped in and tapped home from the backpost for the win.

The important three points give City life in the Group of Death.  Bayern Munich comfortably lead the group on 7 points.  Napoli holds onto second on 5 points while Manchester City sit just behind on 4.  Villareal remains with nothing to show from their three games.
