Chelsea took the advantage in the 2009 Champions League semifinal as they held Barcelona to a scoreless draw in Spain. A win in the return leg in London will see Chelsea through to the final. Despite being outshot 19-3 on the evening, Chelsea survived their trip to Spain and return home with the advantage.
The Barcelona strike force of Lionel Messi, Henry and Eto'o were buzzing all night, but Petr Cech was up to the task in the Chelsea nets. Thierry Henry called Cech into action with two difficult chances in the first half. Bosingwa and John Terry were active as they intervened to stall several Barcelona attacks.
Rafa Marquez suffered a knee injury and will miss the rest of the season for Barcelona. The two sides meet again next week in the return leg at Stamford Bridge in London.
