FC Zurich pulled one of the biggest Champions League upsets in years as they went to the San Siro and shocked giants AC Milan 1-0 Wednesday. Hannu Tihinen got behind Milan Gajic's cross from the right and heeled the ball into the back of the net after ten minutes of play.
The pressure was on AC Milan to find the equalizer and they pushed the rest of the match. The small Swiss side was up to the challenge though as they withstood every push from the Italians to the groans of the home fans.
Ronaldinho and Zambrotta tried their luck from distance but both their efforts went high and wide as Milan fans grew impatient. It looked like AC Milan would find the goal they needed at the death but Massimo Ambrosini's stinging drive from distance struck the far post and bounced away.
The loss leaves AC Milan reeling as they have only won 2 of their first 6 Serie matches and now the miserable Champions League showing just compounds things.
