Two world powers put on a quality display on the field, but it was a mass of goalkeeping mistakes that ruled the day as AC Milan and Real Madrid fumbled their way through a Champions League clash Wednesday afternoon at the Bernabeu. AC Milan keeper Duda was the first to cough one up as he gifted an easy goal to Raul and Real Madrid jumped ahead early on. Andrea Pirlo eqaulized for AC Milan as he caught Casillas napping in the Real goal.
The second saw Real Madrid pressure for the go ahead goal, but a Cassilas error give AC Milan the lead as he rushed out of his net after a ball he did not get leaving Alexandre Pato to easily finish. Once again the home side would tie it up this time through Royston Drenthe and the match looked headed for a draw. Pato would have none of it though as he volleyed home the winner in the 88th minute.
Elsewhere, Chelsea rolled to an easy 4-0 victory over Atletico Madrid at Stamford Bridge behind a pair from Kalou. Manchester United survived a tricky trip to Russia winning 1-0 at CSKA Moscow on a late Antonio Valencia goal. Juventus were 1-0 winners over Maccabi Haifa and Bordeaux defeated Bayern Munich 2-1.
