Akron continued to show they are deserving of the #1 ranking in the Soccermogul Top 30 as they easily dispatched High Point 4-1 and then put a hurt on #21 Cincinnati 3-0. Look for Akron to stay #1 in tomorrow's poll release.
Elsewhere, ACC play got underway with Wake Forest winning on the road at Clemson. North Carolina put down the challenge of a much improved North Carolina State team 2-1 and Maryland took care of Boston College 2-0. Duke showed they are to be reckoned with as they defeated Virginia.
17th ranked Boston continued their challenging early season schedule with a pair of very difficult games on the weekend. Boston fell 1-0 to #20 Harvard on Friday but rebounded on Sunday defeating #2 St Johns 1-0.
