This week marks the first big internationals of 2007 with several attractive matchups dotting the schedule. Tuesday has a worldclass matchup between Brazil and Portugal. The game will air on Foxsoccer Channel at 2pm CT and be replayed at 10pm CT. Also on schedule is a meeting between two of the African powers as Nigeria plays Ghana.In other games Tuesday, Denmark plays Australia, Northern Ireland plays Wales and Greece faces South Korea.
Wednesday has several enticing matchups as well. England gets together with Spain in what should be a cracking match. It will be shown live on Foxsoccer Channel at 2pm CT and replayed at 7pm CT. Also on the slate is France facing Argentina. The defending World Champions Italy take the field against Romania while Germany plays Switzerland.
The big matchup for North Americans takes place Wednesday evening in Phoenix, Arizona as Mexico faces the United States. Mexico is expected to bring their top squad while the Americans will be missing some of their European based players but still field a strong side. Expect fireworks as the two are clearly not friends. The game will be aired live on ESPN2 at 8pm CT.
Other games of note on Wednesday are Holland facing Russia, Croatia-Norway, Belgium-Czech Republic and Egypt-Sweden.
