The first round of 16 games was completed on Friday and Saturday in the men's NCAA Tournament. In the 2nd round the top 16 seeds are introduced as hosts. The first round saw the lower 32 seeds go at it and produced a few interesting results. New Mexico had to win a tough road match at San Francisco and did. Washington had a surprisingly easy time with Creighton 3-0. UConn dropped a 2-1 game to Fairfield and little Gardner Webb was able to knock off Alabama-Birmingham.
Things get more interesting in the next round as the big boys begin play. 1st round results and 2nd round matchups:
