MLS Generation Adidas 3 Watford Reserves 0

On a rain soaked field at the Watford Training Center in England, MLS Generation Adidas recorded a convincing 3-0 win over Watford Reserves on Thursday. The Revolution’s Michael Parkhurst started the game and played 60 minutes, while forward Willie Sims entered the game in the 60th minute.

Chicago Fire forward Chad Barrett scored in the 14th minute on a rocket shot from 20 yards out that hit the upper right corner of the goal. Two minutes later he had a breakaway saved by the Watford keeper.

New York Red Bulls forward David Arvizu had a breakaway chance in the 23rd minute, but his shot was just wide and hit the side netting.

Columbus Crew forward Kei Kamara notched Generation adidas’ second goal in the 67th minute when he headed in a cross from the right wing by Real Salt Lake forward Jamie Watson into the upper left corner of the goal.

Real Salt Lake midfielder Nikolas Besagno put the game away in the 75th minute as he headed in a corner kick from Chivas USA midfielder Sacha Kljestan.

Chivas USA’s Brad Guzan and Toronto FC’s Will Hesmer combined for the shutout in goal.

Generation adidas’ scheduled match against the Chelsea FC Reserves was cancelled as Chelsea was unable field a complete reserve roster.
